Kilkenny circus ban motion deferred

Despite a cold and wintry night, around 20 local supporters joined ARAN at a demo outside the Kilkenny Town Hall on Monday 11th March to call on the council to support a motion to ban circuses with wild animals from performing on council-owned land.

Despite a cold and wintry night, around 20 local supporters joined ARAN at a demo outside the Kilkenny Town Hall on Monday 11th March to call on the council to support a motion to ban circuses with wild animals from performing on council-owned land.

Although the motion was on the agenda, it was not given time at the meeting, but has been rescheduled for discussion at the council’s April meeting.

Our thanks to Councillor Malcolm Noonan (Green Party) for reintroducing the motion, everyone who attended the demo and all those who contacted councillors ahead of the meeting.
