Stop Circus Suffering

Another victory!

PORTLAND, MAINE voted unanimously to ban traveling wild and exotic animal acts throughout the city.

PORTLAND, MAINE joins almost 40 diverse nations and over 75 local US jurisdictions to take action against circus animal suffering. The Portland City Council today voted unanimously to ban traveling wild and exotic animal acts throughout the city. Thanks to Councilor Batson for sponsoring the ordinance. Batson and the Mayor both expressed their hope that the measure would lead others toward change.

Times really are changing—no one spoke in opposition to the proposal.

ADI submitted evidence to the council and supported local advocate Susanna Richer with ADI briefings. We can help you effect change in your community too!
