Stop Circus Suffering

No animal circus this year for Shriners in LA!

Good news: The Al Malaikah Shriners in Los Angeles have decided to break with tradition and not bring an animal circus to their annual event on April 11th – 13th.

The move follows several years of ADI outreach at these events and discussion with Shriners from the temple, during which there has been a changing attitude about animal circuses. We very much hope that this positive news will lead to the introduction of a permanent “no performing animals” policy – as an event organizer the Shriners must take responsibility for the inherent public safety and welfare issues associated with animal circuses and we hope they will consider that featuring such acts at the carnival is not worth the risk to visitors or the animals.

Take Action

  • Please let the Al Malaikah Shriners know that a permanent “no performing animals” policy gets your support – email Fred Bernhardt, 116th Illustrious Potentate at fnbernhardt@yahoo.com
  • If you live in Los Angeles, why not enjoy this year’s Shriners event safe in the knowledge that it will be free from animal circus acts.
