ADI works with Sloboda zvierat in Slovakia

ADI is delighted to be working with Sloboda zvierat to campaign against the use of animals in circuses in Slovakia.
Since 2012 Sloboda zvierat has been calling on the government to implement a ban on animals in circuses and, at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture, they are presently collating national legislation implemented by countries in the EU on this issue.
Sloboda zvierat previously provided assistance with the preparation of a manual which is presently being used by the State Veterinary Office and their inspectors to monitor the welfare of animals in circuses. They now await the data that has been collected through these inspections to evaluate how successful or otherwise this initiative has been.
A petition initiated by Sloboda zvierat has already shown strong support for a circus ban, securing 30,000 signatures.
