Our reports on the use of animals in circuses in the UK in 1998, 2001 and 2003 and 2004 have demonstrated that travelling animal circuses, by their very nature, cause distress and suffering. We have also published reports on the suffering of circus animals in Portugal and Ireland. We have prosecuted circus workers and owners, we have rescued and relocated circus animals, our Field Officers have worked undercover in over 20 animal circuses all over the world.
