North Ayrshire Council agreed to “adopt a policy banning the letting of Council owned sites to travelling circuses or similar organisations which utilise animals in the provision of entertainment”.

North Ayrshire joins East Ayrshire with animal circus ban
Following a motion by Councillor Irene Oldfather at a meeting of the full Council on 19 September 2012, North Ayrshire Council agreed to “adopt a policy banning the letting of Council owned sites to travelling circuses or similar organisations which utilise animals in the provision of entertainment”, effectively banning circuses with performing animals from its land.
