LET’S END WILD ANIMAL ACTS IN NEW JERSEY!
“It’s cruel. It’s inhumane. We have to stop it.” New Jersey Sen. Lesniak
Good news: ADI has been working with local campaigners in NJ to introduce local and state measures to prohibit traveling wild animal acts. Senator Lesniak’s bill S2508 (Nosey’s Law) has passed the Senate and has now joined Rep. Mukherji’s A4386 companion bill in the Assembly. ADI met with Sponsor Mukherji and committee members to provide evidence and make the case that all wild animals suffer in traveling acts. We were delighted to see Sen. Lesniak’s online commitment to support a bill amendment for all wild animals, noting ‘It’s the right thing.” Thanks as well to Rep. Mukherji, who quickly committed to the amendment, had it drafted, and requested the bill to be moved to the Environmental and Solid Waste Committee.
NJ representatives need to hear from their constituents. If you live in NJ:
We need YOU to call on members of the Environmental and Solid Waste Committee to support bill A4386/S2508 with the proposed amendment.
Please also urge your NJ representatives to support the amended Nosey’s Law.
Bergen County, Passaic County, Cumberland County, Hudson County, Jersey City and Vineland, New Jersey
Kudos to Bergen County, Passaic County, Cumberland County, Hudson County, Jersey City and Vineland, showing that NJ knows the way forward is to ban cruel and dangerous traveling wild animal acts! ADI worked with local campaigners and local city officials to provide data and assist in drafting these local measures.
