Stop Circus Suffering

Despite the debate in the House of Commons in June that resulted in a motion directing the Government to ban the use of wild animals in circuses before July 2012, recent Ministerial statements have indicated that Defra intend to pursue a licensing system instead.

A further obstacle removed for Government to implement outright ban.

Animal Defenders International is extremely concerned to learn that the Coalition government may be considering self regulation in the circus industry despite that time and time again animal suffering and cruelty has been proven.
