Stop Circus Suffering

A ban on wild animal circuses was first promised over a decade ago. 94.5% of the public want to see the ban implemented, and 98% of MPs stood on a manifesto promise to do so – yet these outdated and unwanted acts are still legal in the UK.

Pennsylvania State Senator Daylin Leach says “the public will not tolerate this unconscionable cruelty any longer.”

Massachusetts State Senator Bruce Tarr has introduced SD.2002 – a bill to prohibit traveling wild and exotic animal acts in the state.

Hopes that the Welsh government would be the first country in the UK to break the deadlock and ban the use of wild animals in circuses have been dashed. Instead of decisive action, a weaker registration system is being considered.
