Stop Circus Suffering

Animal Defenders International is extremely concerned to learn that the Coalition government may be considering self regulation in the circus industry despite that time and time again animal suffering and cruelty has been proven.

Anne the elephant has made a safe journey to Longleat Safari Park this morning after being handed over by Bobby Roberts Super Circus.

The reason that ADI has supported the move of Annie the elephant to Longleat Safari Park as an initial place of safety, is that it has an empty elephant house with no other elephants, as Anne needs to be quarantined for a while and receive specialist care.

In the fight to rescue Annie the elephant, ADI representatives, Brian Blessed and politicians representing the main political parties took their ‘Stop Circus Suffering’ campaign directly to 10 Downing Street today.

The plight of Anne the elephant has captured the heart of the public. We are delighted to announce that Mr Roberts has agreed that Anne can be rehomed to a place where she will feel safe and secure.
