Stop Circus Suffering

ADI’s Stop Circus Suffering campaign has stepped up a gear to push for a complete ban on the use of wild animals in circuses.

In a show of unity, ADI representatives and over 20 MP’s from all political persuasions gathered today at Parliament, to pledge their commitment to securing a ban on the use of wild animals in UK circuses, and calling on the Minister responsible Lord Henley to finally action what the UK is calling out for.

ADI is calling for public and political support to help strike a blow for wild animals currently languishing in circuses throughout the UK.

Earlier this week Animal Defenders International (ADI), the leading animal welfare organisation that works globally for the protection of animals, pressed ahead with its ‘UK ban of wild animals in circuses’ campaign with a presentation to The Associate Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare (APGAW) at Parliament.

The UK government’s decision to hold a public consultation on the use of wild animals in circuses has been met with enthusiasm by ADI supporters and the general public alike.

Defra’s long-awaited report of their Circus Working Group (CWG) was published in November, and we are right back where we started 18 months ago.
