Stop Circus Suffering

Following the Government’s insistence last year that they favoured an inspection and licensing regime for wild animals in travelling circuses, ADI’s request to Defra for access to their inspection reports for travelling circuses is refused.

Following a fifth hearing for legal arguments today at Kettering Magistrates Court, District Judge Chinnery ruled that the trial of Bobby and Moira Roberts is to proceed, but delayed until November.

North Ayrshire Council agreed to “adopt a policy banning the letting of Council owned sites to travelling circuses or similar organisations which utilise animals in the provision of entertainment”.

The Prime Minister has made a firm commitment to take action on bringing in the circus ban after 75 celebrities and politicians united with ADI to take action on the issue on 9th April 2014.
